AN off-duty Teignmouth nurse saved the life of a young woman who suffered a heart attack at Shaldon.
She performed CPR for about ten minutes until an ambulance arrived, and the crew used a defibrillator to restart her heart.
It happened in the Conservative Club and the incident spurred members into raising enough money to buy their own defibrillator.
