A FORMAL complaint has gone into Teignbridge Council from the Coombesend Road Residents' Association, Kingsteignton, following last week's 'controversial' voting on Barratt Homes' application to build 133 homes at Buckland Barton, Newton Abbot.

The district authority's planning committee gave approval on a third vote after objectors thought the application had been thrown out, not once, but twice.

It left those in the public gallery angry, baffled and confused, and not impressed with local democracy.

A consultant has forwarded the letter to Teignbridge Council on the association's behalf, but will not reveal the contents until a response from the authority's legal department.

Kelvin Warn, of the association, said two further groups of objectors were currently working on responses.
