THE consultation period for residents to have their say on Newton Abbot’s Neighbourhood Plan came to an end today.

The plan was created by the town council with the help and support from the Newton Abbot Community Interest Company and Teignbridge Council.

The document, which will cover the next 20 years, will include aims, planning policies and proposals for improving the area.

The consultation period started on October 15 and ended yesterday at noon.

The plan will be sent off to an independent planning inspector who will check that it doesn’t go against the Teignbridge Local Plan before being sent back to the council for a referendum.
