THE new Mayor of Newton Abbot, Cllr Carol Bunday, has chosen her charity for the year, it will be the Ricky Grant Oncology Unit at Torbay Hospital, partly in memory of former council officer Kieran Dore who died two years ago after contracting cancer.

Her cadet is 14-year-old Corporal Larissa Bradley who serves with 1322 Newton Abbot Royal Air Force Cadets.

Cllr Lesley Sheffield has been appointed Deputy Mayor and Cllr Mike Hocking the Mayor’s Consort.
