A TOWN council has begun to tidy up its leat after being awarded a grant.

Kingsteignton Town Council, successful in applying for the Tidy Teignbridge Grant, which was made available by Teignbridge District Council, has wasted no time in putting the funds to good use.

The council has begun tidying up the leat Crossley Moor Road, in a bid to make the area a more pleasant place for people to stop.

Elsewhere, the council intends to use the grant to fund Chapter 8 training for its two new members of staff, as well as purchase litter picking equipment and personal protective equipment.
