A PLANNING application to create a dedicated dog-walking field in Liverton has been rejected by Teignbridge District Council (TDC)

25/00465/FUL sought permission to change Liverton Brook Field from an agricultural field to a dedicated dog walking and exercise field.

TDC refused to grant permission, saying that the proposal would ‘increase the levels of noise arising from the site throughout the day, and on a day to day basis therefore giving rise to adverse impacts upon health and the quality of life of local residents and therefore failing to maintain the residential amenity’.

The proposal aimed to ‘provide a secure, controlled and accessible space for dog owners and trainers to exercise and socialise their dogs in a safe environment’, the access and use statement for 25/00465/FUL said.

‘The proposed dog walking field at Liverton Brook Field represents a well-planned, secure and beneficial development that will provide a safe and managed space for local dog owners’ the access statement, prepared by Co Create Architects, says.

The application received several objections from nearby residents, as well as an objection from Ilsington Parish Council.
