Teignbridge Council will continue to share its chief executive with a north Devon authority after both agreed it was the way forward.

Since April, Teignbridge's £100,000 a year boss, Nicola Bulbeck, has also headed up Torridge Council, dividing her time and salary between the two.

On Monday, district councillors agreed to make the arrangement a permanent one for as long as Ms Bulbeck, kept her position.

Deputy leader Cllr Ray Frost said it was about 'getting the best out of the excellent chief executive'.
