A DANGEROUS sex offender has been jailed after he joined an online  paedophile ring within days of being released from prison.

Daniel Keenor was being supervised at a post-release hostel in Southampton when he posted child rape images onto a Kik Messenger group called Goodstuff which had a prefix indicating it was a paedophile chat group.

He used the name KinkyDanUK to contact a mother who was offering her two young daughters for abuse without realising that he was in fact dealing with an undercover police officer.

He told the officer he wanted to meet her and the children who were aged four and 11 and suggested carrying out sexual assaults on them, Exeter Crown Court was told.

Keenor has decade long history of 44 offences of either trying to contact children online or accessing and sharing extreme images of abuse and is already serving a 10 year sentence for offences which were also committed after his release from his previous sentence in 2021.

He used anonymous browsers and encrypted websites to hide his identity but was tracked down after falling foul of five different undercover police operations and traced back to his home in Devon.

He has served three different jail sentences and was being monitored by officers from the public protection team when he committed the new offences in March 2021.

Keenor, aged 47, of Rosemary Gardens, Paignton, admitted four counts or distributing or making indecent images of children and was jailed for three and a half years by Recorder Mr Richard Paige.

He told him the offence was aggravated by his previous record and recent release from custody.

Miss Victoria Bastock, prosecuting, said an undercover officer joined a Kik Messenger group which included Keenor, in which users were expected to contribute child abuse images or other material.

It included multiple people sharing images of children including babies. Keenor believed the officer was a mother with two girls and sent her images which he wanted her to show to her children.

He also wanted to arrange to meet her and her daughters. He was found with moving and still images on his phone of young children which he had downloaded from the chat room or the internet.

Mr William Parkhill, defending, said Keenor wants to address his persistent offending and has applied to move from Dartmoor Prison, where he is currently serving his 10-year sentence to another jail where sex offender treatment courses are available.
