A policeman who had sex with vulnerable women victims he met while on duty has been sacked.
PC Daniel Forder admitted gross misconduct when he appeared before a disciplinary panel last week.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: ’PC Forder engaged in sexual relations with vulnerable female victims whom he met while on duty.
’PC Forder admitted gross misconduct at the hearing. The panel found that the officer had breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour, in particular those relating to respect and courtesy and discreditable conduct.
’PC Forder was dismissed from the police service without notice.’
Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer said: ’We expect the highest standards of professional behaviour from all our officers and staff and it is the core duty of all police officers and staff to protect the vulnerable and provide a high standard of service to our communities.
’On this occasion the constable’s conduct seriously breached this expectation. Discreditable conduct and a pack of respect will not be tolerated within the Devon and Cornwall Police.’
A female officer based in south Devon has been sacked for using a police vehicle to attend a private function while on duty.
PC Sarah Needham then lied to senior officers about what she had done. She was found to have behaved in a way which was gross misconduct and sacked by the force following a disciplinary hearing.
Deputy Chief Constable Bill Skelly said: ’Being dishonest will not be accepted or tolerated within the Devon and Cornwall Police.’
