MAGISTRATES have fined a Kingskerswell man more than £1,000 for racially aggravated threatening behaviour.

Christopher Wills, 38, of Bushmead Avenue, pleaded guilty to a total of three offences when he appeared before South Devon magistrates.

Wills admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required in Torquay on May 27 2021.

For this, the court ordered him to carry out a community order of 120 hours unpaid work as well as paying a victim surcharge of £95 and prosecution costs of £85.

He also pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on the same date, also in Torquay.

There was no separate penalty awarded by the court.

Also on May 27 2021, he admitted racially aggravated threatening or abusive behaviour and was fined £1,125.
