A NEWTON Abbot man has been warned he faces a jail sentence after he admitted physical or sexual assaults on three different women.

Richard Choules pleaded guilty to three charges which span a time period of 27 years when he appeared before Judge Brian Forster, QC, at Exeter Crown Court.

Choules, aged 50, formerly of Twickenham Road, Newton Abbot, but now living at a bail hostel in Taunton, will be sentenced next month after the probation service prepare a report.

The judge told him: ’A custodial sentence is inevitable but it is important for the judge to have as much information as possible to understand the full circumstances and consider the future.’

Choules admitted an assault on one woman which caused actual bodily harm, an indecent assault on a second, and a sexual assault by penetration on a third.

The prosecution intend to offer no evidence in relation to three counts of causing actual bodily harm, three of rape, one of indecent assault, and four of sexual assault.
