A THUG who bit off part of a man’s ear in a street attack in Newton Abbot has been jailed.
Kai Webb, 28, was said to have bragged about what he had done after the scuffle outside Bar 7 and had blood around his mouth.
Exeter Crown Court heard the attack was part of a six-month spree of offending when Webb ‘went off the rails’ in 2023.
Other offences included robbing a man on Teignmouth seafront and stabbing a man in the back outside a pub in the same town.
Webb admitted grievous bodily harm wounding with intent, having a bladed article and robbery.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison with a further two years on licence because of the danger he poses.
The ear-biting incident happened in Market Street the early hours of April 29, 2023.
In July of 2023 Webb took part in a violent robbery on Teignmouth seafront.
The victim described being chased into a dead end where he was punched and kicked.
His £800 phone, umbrella, £800 designer jacket, backpack and £300 cash were stolen.
The court was told during the robbery, Webb pulled out a 10-inch blade, and swung it.
The man suffered a cut to his hand as he tried to defend himself.
Webb was released again under investigation and in October 2023 got into an argument with a man at the Rock Bottom bar in Teignmouth in which Webb pulled out a knife.
After the fight broke up, blood was seen coming from the victim’s back where he had been stabbed under the rib.
Webb has a long history of violence and was already in prison serving a 43 month sentence for another unprovoked assault in 2021.
Lee Bremridge, defending, said Webb had been doing well in prison and drink was at the root of the problem. Judge David Evans accepted he is remorseful and has ADHD.
