POLICE in Newton Abbot have pledged to crack down on anti-social behaviour in Courtenay Park.

Officers in the town announced this week they will be stepping up patrols in and around the park in response to reports of problems.

In particular they will be looking into issues of drug misuse.

A spokesman for Newton Abbot police said: ‘We will continue to conduct high visibility patrols daily.

‘Anyone causing issues will be dealt with robustly.’

In August, officers in Newton Abbot stressed that anti-social behaviour in the town remained a ‘key priority’ and said the neighbourhood team would be making daily patrols at locations where such behaviour is known to take place.

Reports of concerns relating to anti-social behaviour can be made by calling 101.
