MORE THAN 100 people gathered for a cream tea afternoon at an open garden in Ideford on Sunday, June 12.

Kath Mortimore welcomed visitors to spend an afternoon in her garden to raise money for Marie Curie.

The event raised around £1,400 and during the afternoon, the High C’s Choir entertained everyone present, with a selection of songs conducted by their Choirmaster, Ian Davies.

The wonderful selection of cakes was supplied by the well known local company, Lyn’s Catering, which helped to raise money towards the cause.

Linda Mortimore, head of Lyns Catering and daughter of Kath, made and served more than 130 cream teas, with help from Gerda Cimare and James Burgess.
