The latest visit by residents from Newton Abbot's twin town of Besigheim has gone down a storm, with attractions such as cream teas on Dartmoor proving to be popular.
Last week's trip began with coffee at the town hall in the company of mayor Cllr Carol Bunday, followed by a tour of St Leonard's Tower and a welcome by town crier Ken Purchase.
The party then moved on to Buckfast Abbey and Plymouth before returning via the moor and a cream tea at Dartmeet.
'Our visitors really loved that,' said Wendy Taylor, spokesman for Newton Abbot Twinning Association.
The time spent in the area was particularly special for one German gent.
Not only was this just the latest of many stays in the past 30 years for Werner Saussele but, as it was his 70th birthday, he decided to bring a coachload of his friends with him to celebrate.
'We had a really lovely time,' said Mrs Taylor.
