IT’S curtains up on a new season for the Teignmouth Film Society which is re-launching after a long break during the pandemic.
They are meeting for the first time in two years on Friday, February 18, for a screening of ‘A Man Called Ove’ (A Swedish film).
During the evening you will also have the chance to cast your vote for the films they will be showing in their new 2022 season.
The new venue is at Trinity School, Buckeridge Road, Teignmouth, TQ14 8LY (details below).
‘A Man Called Ove’ is a black comedy based on the best-selling novel by Swedish author, Friedrich Backman.
Ove is a cantankerous and lonely widower who is befriended by his pregnant Persian neighbour.
An unlikely friendship develops between them and little by little Ove rediscovers his zest for life.
A funny and warm-hearted film that argues for the value of community and neighbourliness.
Entry will cost £5 with free parking in Buckeridge Road. The doors will open for refreshments at 7pm and the film begins at 8pm. Running time for the film is 1 hour, 54 minutes.
Hilary Olek, of the Teignmouth Film Society, says: ‘We know that some people are still nervous about coming out. but we feel the time has come now that restrictions are largely lifted to give it a try.’
