A SEVENTY-one-year-old man has raised £460 for good causes by cycling from London to Paris – without leaving a popular Teignmouth cafe.
Charles Thorpe took on the 277-mile static bike ride outside Finley Brown’s on Bank Street starting on Wednesday of last week.
The fundraiser received ‘lots and lots of support’ from people in Teignmouth town.
Regulars and staff from the cafe also offered encouragement and kind donations.
All of the money raised will go to Mr Thorpe’s two chosen charities, Christian Aid and Cancer Research.
