Dartmoor planners are today set to make significant decisions about the fate of two historic Ashburton pubs.

When the national park authority's development management committee meets at Parke, Bovey Tracey, it will consider two schemes submitted by Exeter firm Heavitree Brewery Plc.

One will seek to smarten up the Grade II listed Victoria Inn, North Street, refurbish an attached unoccupied cottage and throw a new emergency access footbridge over the River Ashburn.

The application follows two earlier ones that were turned down.
