BOVEY Tracey’s annual town meeting is being held in the town hall on Wednesday, March 23, at 7pm.

Residents are invited to attend the meeting which will include a review of the past year by the mayor, Cllr Ulli Arnold, and reports from representatives of the police and local organisations.

The Young Citizen of the Year Award will be presented.

Cllr Arnold said: ‘It has been another busy year where we have been progressing a number of projects. Our annual town meeting offers a great opportunity to provide a comprehensive update on the wide range of projects that we have been working on to take the town forward as well as taking questions on the issues from residents.’

He added that the meeting was a chance for residents to raise any issues with councillors, no matter how large or small.

He said:?‘By working together we can hopefully resolve them and help make the parish of Bovey Tracey and Heathfield an even better place to live, work and visit.

‘Bovey Tracey is facing some challenges and opportunities. Trying to shape development and economic regeneration in the town will continue to test the council’s skills and its determination to deliver what people want for the town.’

Questions from residents can be submitted before the meeting – giving the council the chance to respond where possible – by emailing the town clerk Mark Wells at [email protected] or by telephoning 01626 834217.

The council’s annual meeting is on Monday, May 9, when councillors will elect a mayor and deputy mayor for the coming year and allocate committee, sub-committee and project responsibilities.
