A TEIGNMOUTH musician is back home after wowing them in the States with his new composition.
David Haines oversaw a performance of his science oratorio Power of Ten, which was performed by more than 250 singers, young and old, from various choirs.
It was the opener for the first USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington DC.
He attended rehearsals with nearly all the schools and choirs involved, including the top science specialist high school, the Thomas Jefferson.
'What was extra special was that at last my work is being taken seriously by top scientists at the heart of the world's most advanced scientific community.
'I want to share my passion for science through the medium of song, but it's not going to do much good unless the people in the know get the point and express their enthusiasm for it – and there it was brimming over.'
