DAWLISH Community Hospital’s Minor Injury Unit is to close again tomorrow.

The unit, which only reopened 18 months ago after being shut for four years, has been ‘temporarily’ closed today and will be again tomorrow, Tuesday October 28.

A spokesman for Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust said: ‘We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.’

The unit, which should open Monday to Friday, has been beset with problems.

It has been closed numerous times over the last six months due to staffing shortages or illness.

When open, it treats minor injuries such as cuts, sprains and scalds.

Anyone with an urgent but not life-threatening injury or condition should visit the Urgent Treatment Centre at Newton Abbot Community Hospital.
