THE young and the young-at-heart swapped tales about their lives at a Kingsteignton school during a shared roast dinner.
Year 6 pupils at St Michael’s Primary School invited their grandparents to share a traditional school lunch and afterwards take part in a guided tour of the school grounds.
During their time together the visitors reminisced on times past while their grandchildren provided an insight into the classroom experiences of the 21st century.
Headteacher Karen West said: ‘The afternoon was brilliant. It was lovely to see everyone chatting over lunch.
‘The grandparents enjoyed a guided tour of the school and we received lots of positive comments about the wonderful food.’
Marie Henley, the school’s head of catering, added: ‘We were extremely pleased to see so many of our Year 6 grandparents attending our roast lunch day and to receive so much positive feedback.
‘We are looking forward to the next one.’
