THOSE curious to discover what goes on behind the scenes on a farm and how their food is produced, took advantage of the opportunity to find out at the weekend.

Open Farm Sunday, organised by Linking Environment And Farming (Leaf) saw farms around the country open their gates to the public, two of them at Bowden Farm, near Buckfastleigh and Chipley Farm, Bickington.

Russell and Hannah Ashford were taken by surprise that Bowden Farm, which concentrates on organic dairy, beef and sheep, as well as having miniature ponies, attracted nearly 250 visitors.
