JOHN MARSHALL, of Morningside, Dawlish, writes:
I recently e-mailed Anne-Marie Morris to ask her to categorically deny that her advertisements in the local Press and the glossy leaflets delivered to my door, were funded in some form by Lord Ashcroft, whose tax affairs have proved so controversial.
So far she has declined to do so.
Her leader has declared that all political expenses must be transparent. Quite right!
She tells me that details of her election expenses will be available after the election, but the vast amounts already spent in her pre- election campaign, will not have to be declared.
Surely she would not want there to be any suspicion in her prospective voters' minds that the seat was being bought.
I am certain that Ms Morris will want to let voters know whether Lord Ashcroft is a contributor to her campaign....and by how much...so that they
can make a valid judgement.
