EAST Street has reopened after being blocked earlier this evening due to scaffolding.

The Newton Abbot road had been blocked in both directions from around 5pm.

It has since reopened.

At the time, an eyewitness told the Mid-Devon Advertiser it was ‘absolute chaos’.

Police were at the scene.
