A WHOLE host of Easter events will be taking place in Newton Abbot town centre tomorrow.

The town council is putting on a variety of activities for youngsters including face-painting, an Easter egg giveaway and balloon magic.

Shoppers will also be able to take part in an Easter ‘Bobby’ hunt, a golden ticket draw and meet the chic eggs.

The free events will be taking place in the Market Walk and town centre from 10am until 2pm.

Sally Henley, town development manager, said: ‘The little Easter Saturday fun event has become quite a tradition now.

‘Free face-painting and balloon magic are always popular with children and so are Easter eggs.

I am very grateful to Tesco and to Asda for supplying the eggs for the draw and also the eggs which the police and councillors will be giving out.

‘I am always delighted when local shops get involved and this year I am pleased to welcome out Newton Abbot Bobbies who will be entering into the Easter spirit with us.

‘Market Walk shopping centre is hosting a new Easter attraction, the chic eggs, who tell me they are very much looking forward to meeting local shoppers.’

Visitors will also be able to take a tour around the town’s St Leonard’s Tower which will be opening up on Saturday.
