BUDDING computer whizzes at Kingskerswell’s Code Club have benefited from two new laptops.

The club, which meets at the village’s library on Fridays, teaches children how to code software.

County councillor Alistair Dewhirst bought the club – which has been running for two years – the new equipment out of his locality fund.

He said: ‘I was very happy to buy the laptops because what the club does is very important.

‘The times have moved into an age of computers and if the children learn young they will be fit for a modern, digital world.’

The successful computer club has recently launched a new Saturday morning gathering for the more advanced coder.
