BREXIT-LIKE divisions have split Chagford down the middle over plans for a new primary school in the town.

Some 52 people have expressed support for the major development while 48 have objected – the same margin which separated leavers and remainers in the Euro referendum.

But Dartmoor planners, who will vote on the contentious Lower Street scheme at their national park HQ in Bovey Tracey on Friday, are expected to vote in favour of the proposal with officers recommending the application is granted.
