River Dart Country Park in Ashburton is hosting its second annual Nature Day tomorrow, Thursday March 15.
The schoolchildren who have been invited to attend will spend the day joining in activities including stream dipping; making bird feeders; wildlife spotting on a welly walk; and listening to a talk from a Dartmoor Ranger..
Spokesman Gareth Hack said: ‘Nature Day was created and organised by Jo Hellier and it was created to show schools how outdoor education can play an important role in delivering the National Curriculum.
‘The day is catered for Key Stage One and early Key Stage Two children with activities fitting the National Curriculum, and offering an alternative to classroom-based learning.
‘We have a number of local schools attending and it is set to be a very exciting day, with lots to do.’
