THE arts have been brought to life in Kingsteignton by pupils at St Michael’s C of E Primary School.
In a week-long programme of activities, the youngsters explored the worlds of dance, poetry, music and performance, all with the Chinese New Year as the theme.
With help from teachers and professional artists the children also created drums, lanterns, paintings and symbolic name cards.
Teacher Hannah Bray was impressed with the results.
‘The pupils really put their hearts into this project and their efforts were celebrated with a parade at the end of the week, the whole school sharing what they’d been working on.
‘Everything looked superb and the smiles on everyone’s faces showed how much they’d enjoyed themselves and that’s what we’re always aiming at, for learning to be enjoyable.’
