Counting for the district, town and parish councils has begun at Newton Abbot Racecourse. Candidates and their agents queued up for the 10am start with the first results expected later this morning. District leader Cllr Alan Connett, whose Liberal Democrat colleagues nationally have suffered heavy losses, said he did not fear for his position. 'I'm not worried, I'm never worried,' he said.
