Historian and entertainer Dr Tony Liddington, known to his audiences as Uncle Tacko, is bringing his distinctive storytelling to Teignmouth this Christmas with a special reading of a classic festive tale.

Tony will be performing an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic tale, ‘A Christmas Carol’ in aid of the Alice Cross Centre and the 12th Century St James’ Church.

The event, held at St James Church in Teignmouth on Sunday December 21, begins with community carols followed by a performance of The Coventry Carol and a moment of quiet reflection.

Dr Lidington will then transform the audience to Dickens’ timeless world of ghosts, redemption and the true spirit of Christmas. A snack bar will serve minced pies and mulled wine.

Entry is free but tickets must be pre-booked via the Alice Cross Centre: www.thealicecross.co.uk/a-christmas-carol-2
