The Shaldon Water Carnival, which takes place on the first Saturday in August, is an event to rival the most eccentric of ceremonies.

Somewhere between a carnival and a regatta, the Shaldon Water Carnival provides a day of creative explosions, colourful entertainment and nautical brilliance.

It is difficult to encapsulate exactly what the carnival entails, as there is a myriad of events throughout the day on August 6.

The theme for the whole carnival is ‘Beach Party’ so (although not compulsory) do feel free to use that as inspiration for both the Childrens’ Fancy Dress and the Decorated Boats Competitions.
