A feel-good music video has been filmed in Scorriton, featuring residents enjoying simple pleasures and companionship in the sunny Devon countryside.
’The Good Life’ is the latest single from Good Vibes Rollercoaster, who describe themselves as ‘a British indie rock collective blending 1970s-inspired sounds with modern festival-ready energy, focused on motivational, feel-good, story-driven songs built for live crowds’.
The video captures Scorriton’s rural scenery, and shows residents leading cows down a country lane, enjoying drinks together in a pub’s beer garden and playing on Space Hoppers.
The Good Vibes Rollercoaster is led by songwriter/producer Matt Walton, who’s originally from Torquay and fronted the 1990s band Madhatter. He appears in the video with guitarist Paul Downs; the pair hitch a ride on a tractor-trailer and join the villagers in a friendly tug-of-war competition.
Other members of the collective include Darrin Mooney (Primal Scream, Gary Moore), Jonathan Noyce (Jethro Tull, Gary Moore), Paddy Milner (Tom Jones, Jawbone), backing vocalists Jodi Elms and Claire Addiscot (Choir of Peace & Love), alongside Nick Holland (Italian Toscanini Orchestra, Balanescu Quartet), and Harry Basset. They are based between Devon and the New Forest.

The collective launched themselves on the music scene at the end of March with their single ‘We Stand Together’. They amassed more than 504,000 YouTube views and 20,000 subscribers, placing the project in the top 1.5 per cent of YouTube channels. Meanwhile, they have achieved more than 1.5 million cross-platform views and 290 playlist adds worldwide.
They describe their new single, launched on May 25, as ‘a celebration about the simple things in life. Friends, family, laughing, smiling and having fun’. They added: “Huge thanks to the amazing people of Scorriton who featured in the Good Life video.”
The video can be seen in YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yd3ccOhIuZ8 and the single is available on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
