A NEW charity, which provides disadvantaged people with horse-based activities, was launched earlier this month.

After a long process, Sirona Therapeutic Horsemanship has been awarded with a charity status.

The charity, based at Hannahs, Newton Abbot, will now be able to apply for more grants to help put on activities.

The aim of the activities is to increase self-esteem and confidence, build on verbal and non-verbal communication skills, develop trust, respect and compassion as well as have fun.

On June 10 from 11am until 3pm, the charity is holding an open day for people to pop along meet the team and find out more about the work they do.
