A former mayor of Newton Abbot has been convicted of a sexual attack on a vulnerable man who invited him into his home for a cup of tea.
Conservative town councillor Allan Vizor, of Kingsteignton, abused his position as a local dignitary to assault the vulnerable member of the community, Exeter Crown Court was told.
On Wednesday, he was convicted by a jury of carrying out the sexual assault and has been bailed for pre-sentence reports.
Judge Paul Darlow asked for an all-options report, which includes custody.
Vizor denied the charge but a jury reached a majority verdict on the third day of the case.
Vizor will be sentenced in a month's time.
