HIGHWEEK Community Primary and Nursery School, Newton Abbot, is holding an Easter Bingo game tonight in a bid to raise cash for a new library facility at the school.

Starting at 7pm, the event is open to all members of the community, and there will be an Easter egg draw.

Today pupils are taking part by wearing non-school uniform in return for providing an egg for tonight.

Last year the event was attended by more than 100 people and around £500 was raised, and the organisers are hoping to do the same tonight.

A spokesman for the event said: ‘It’s a great fun evening where the children can come along and win some lovely chocolate prizes, and the headteacher usually foes an assembly and teach the pupils about bingo with a numeracy focus.’

The fundraising goal for the new library facility is £5,000 and so far the total raised is £1,500.
