A YOUNG man was airlifted to hospital after suffering a serious head injury in a fall from a ladder in Abbotskerswell earlier this afternoon (Thurs Dec 4).

The casualty was working at a property in the village when he slipped and 'fell from a height' to the ground.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene after the alarm was raised just after noon.

Police confirmed the man was flown by Devon Air Ambulance to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the accident.
