JOBS could be created if an Ashburton agricultural firm wins permission to relocate to the outskirts of town.

Edwin Tucker and Sons Ltd, established in 1831, wants to move from Brewery Park where it has traded since 1960.

The firm has acquired a site next to the A38 at Peartree, close to land where auctioneer Clive Morgan has hopes of establishing a replacement for Newton Abbot livestock market.

Edwin Tucker has promoted the move of its Country Store on grounds including the need to expand, poor access to the current site and reduction of lorry movements in the town centre.
