DELAYS at Teignbridge Council are putting a £75,000 project to secure the future of Buckfastleigh's open air swimming pool in jeopardy.

Time limits on a grant secured from Sport England to cover essential repairs and a major upgrade to the popular pool, which is more than 100 years old, mean the money could be lost unless the pool is handed over to the Friends of Buckfastleigh Swimming Pool by April 1.

Legal wrangles over the handover to the Friends have caused the delay.
