Teignmouth is preparing for a day of festive fun for everyone in the community on Saturday November 22 ahead of the town’s Christmas light switch on.

Shoppers will have all day to cross items off the gift list with a Christmas market on the Triangle and along Bank Street, which will be open from 10am.

Choose from an array of stalls featuring local gifts, crafts, seasonal items and plenty of food and drink to keep you refreshed.

Live music and entertainment will add to the magical atmosphere

Children will enjoy all the fun of the free fairground rides. There’s also a chance to see Santa in his grotto at The Courtenay and receive an early Christmas gift from the jolly man in red.

The Makery is hosting free lantern making workshops outside the Rock and Fudge shop on The Triangle between 10am and 2pm where you can create your own lantern to carry in the evening parade.

As dusk falls, prepare to meet Alice the Dragon as she leads what is set to be Teignmouth’s biggest ever lantern parade. Featuring the Teignmouth Arts Action Group (TAAG) community tree and lanterns made by local schools, groups and individual members of the community, the parade will start at the top of Waterloo Road at 4:30 and head into the Triangle for the Christmas light switch on.

Last year, the Christmas light switch on saw hundreds of people gathering in The Triangle as they enjoyed

The Christmas market and lantern celebration has been supported by The Teenie Tiny Company, Teignmouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce and The Bakehouse with funding from Teignmouth Town Council.
