A giant Christmas street market that has attracted thousands of visitors to Totnes in recent years is shifting to Newton Abbot this December.
The move is seen as a coup for the town and should give traders a welcome yuletide boost and the public something new to enjoy.
On December 12 and 19, the top half of Queen Street will be closed to traffic, as will Union Street from the junction with Carlisle Street, as potentially scores of businesses new to the town move in.
Also lined up are jugglers, stilt-walkers and entertainment including a children's choir.
