WASTE and recycling officers from Teignbridge Council have launched a campaign to reduce the amount of wasted food.

They are taking to the road to support the Love Food Hate Waste campaign and are encouraging people to make small but practical changes to waste less, save money and help the environment.

First stop will be the food and drink festival Abbfest at Fermoy's Garden Centre, Ipplepen, where staff will be tomorrow between 10am and 4pm.

Anyone visiting the stand could win a fresh pos, a gadget which helps keep fruit and vegetables fresher in the fridge for longer.

The team will be giving out tips on recycling, home composting and how to make food go further.
