Up to 36 lorry movements an hour during the morning school run in Buckfastleigh have been described as 'hypothetical' by firm MVV Environmental.

The figure – given in a private submission by consultant Scott Wilson to the Highways Agency on November 30 – was uncovered by Buckfastleigh Community Forum in documents at County Hall, Exeter, on Friday.

The consultant firm is working for MVV Environmental, the company planning to process ash at Whitecleave Quarry from a Plymouth incinerator in a scheme which has sparked controversy in the town amid fears of noise, dust and lorry movements.

Forum members were seeking information about likely lorry movements when they came across the data.
