FIREFIGHTERS were mobilised after reports of a family trapped inside a car that had left the road.

At around 3pm on Saturday, July 19, Ashburton and Buckfastleigh crews mobilised to reports of persons trapped inside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, the family had managed to get themselves out.

‘Thankfully, all the family were fit and well and checked over as a precaution’, a spokesperson for Buckfastleigh Fire Station said.

The day before, Friday, July 18, both Ashburton and Buckfastleigh were mobilised to South Brent after a report of a house fire.

Crews using two breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and safety jet to extinguish the fire in the upstairs bedroom.

The fire was sparked by a fault battery on charge.
