FIREFIGHTERS released a trapped road crash casualty after an accident in Maddacombe Road, Kingskerswell, on Wednesday evening.

Three crews, two from Newton Abbot and one from Torquay, dealt with the drama after the 999 call was made just after 5.30pm.

Cutting gear was used to release the male casualty who was  treated for minor injuries at the scene by paramedics.

He was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for further treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
