Fire fighters from Dawlish were called to a car fire in Teignmouth this morning (Thursday October 9).
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public at 11.34 this morning reporting a fire involving a car on a driveway in Teignmouth.
Firefighters arrived to find that the owner of the car had accidentally spilled some fuel while carrying out some maintenance on the vehicle. The fuel had subsequently ignited.
Thankfully, the vehicle’s owner had a fire extinguisher in their garage and was able to use the powder extinguisher to deal with the fire.
Dawlish firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to inspect the vehicle to ensure there was no undetected spread.
