Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has announced a £180,000 makeover for Buckfastleigh Fire Station.

An extension, if planning permission is granted by Dartmoor National Park Authority, will provide more office space at the Bossell Road facility, additional storage and a new cleaning area for the crews' breathing apparatus.

Other planned improvements within the existing building include a muster room, improved facilities to meet Dignity at Work requirements and Disability Discrimination Act works to allow use by members of the community.
