Brace yourself for more rain. The Met Office has issued another weather warning for heavy rain in the wake of Storm Ingrid.

The yellow warning for Cornwall, Devon and South Wales takes effect from 6pm on Monday (January 26) until 2pm on Tuesday (January 27). ‘Outbreaks of heavy rain could result in some flooding in disruption,’ a spokesperson for the Met Office said.

The Met Office expects rainfall totals to reach 20-30 mm widely, with 50-80 mm likely across higher ground, especially Dartmoor. With wet conditions prior to this period, the rain will fall onto saturated ground, accentuating flooding impacts in places. Strong southeasterly winds are also likely.

The heavy and sustained rain has already prompted the Environment Agency to issue two amber flood alerts for the River Teign and South Devon Estuaries.
