NEWTON Abbot Fire Station will welcome the public for a special open day at the end of August.
From 10am to 4pm on Sunday, August 31, the fire station will open its doors to raise funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
The free event, which is the first of its kind for the station for close to ten years, will showcase the station’s fire engine and other specialist vehicles, alongside activities for children.
‘We will be doing live fire, ladder and RTC demonstrations throughout the day’, says a spokesperson for Newton Abbot Fire Station.
‘Our Road safety team will also be attending and bringing with them their “crash car”’, added the spokesperson.
Food and other refreshments will be available from Kimmies food van in B&Q car park.
